This is our sixth season of workshops on sustainable living, forgotten domestic arts and traditional rural crafts and skills. Every year I look forward to meeting the wide range of people who travel to visit us at Home Farm House where we are snugly nestled into the
the delightful and picturesque Lincolnshire Wolds.
With a warm welcome, we love sharing the house and garden, wine from the vineyard and meals influenced by what's available in the kitchen garden and orchard.
Every year has seen a broadening of the range of workshops on offer, from cooking and kitchen skills to gardening and animal husbandry – not forgetting our ever popular seasonal workshops.
Among the new workshops you'll find in our 2012 programme is my new three-day Student Cookery School. I will personally teach this course three times over the summer, so if your sons or daughters are off to university later this year, send them to me first and I will inspire them to cook. The last lot asked for kitchen gadgets for their Christmas stockings. |
Also new, and something of a coup for our programme, is the opportunity to visit three fine houses or gardens. At the historic Hackthorn Hall, just outside Lincoln, we will be hosting two workshops, while at Renishaw Hall, home of the renowned and eccentric Sitwell family, we will take a tour with art historian Rose Horspool. Our third trip is to Leeds to visit the innovative and exquisite York Gate Garden, a one-acre garden said to be the best small garden in the world.
In addition to our workshops, we now provide bed and breakfastso why not stay before or after your workshop and experience the tranquillity and beauty of this part of the world for just a little longer.
